“Have you done your homework yet?” “Your room looks like a mess.” “Young man, we need to talk about your browsing history.”

Let’s be honest, most teenagers aren’t exactly on good terms with their parents nowadays. Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a way to just get those old folks to shut up for a few hours, so that you can game in peace? One Illinois youth by the name of Kyle Tapper seems to have figured out the secret to getting along with his parents.

Whenever his parents start getting a bit too excited about interfering with his busy life, Kyle simply pulls out his iPad and hands it to the prospective troublemaker before the situation can escalate. “Here Dad, wanna look at some cars on eBay? I think your favorite conspiracy theorist is streaming on Facebook now.” And as easily as that, peace returns to the family home.

“The iPad definitely saved our family,” Tapper told us when we came to visit, “in the past, if we had a disagreement, it would usually lead to conversations, which would then lead to a full-blown argument. But now, thanks to this miracle device, we can be in the same room, without talking to each other for hours. It’s like they’re completely different people now. Thanks, Apple!”

At reporting time, the family had fallen back into strife after a brief internet outage.
